seriously. anyone who has heard of the "great kate" needs to believe what she's cooking, because her skin care line is EXCEPTIONAL! I've been now using it since November and nobody better ever (ever) try and take it away!

i'm a very obsessive loyal Sephora customer. VIB status. i love makeup and skincare. i heard wonderful things about StriVectin-SD™ Instant Retexturizing Scrub and thought i'd give it a try.

i'm amazed! this product i've used more than one week, faithfully! the website tells you what it does, better than I, but it will make your face feel like a baby's bottom. It does smell like toothpaste, but it's freaking amazing! being present....oh how I wish i was a reeferette!

i turned 36 last week. this hasn't been the best year, but we went on a nice long weekend to see my most favorite musician . we haven't missed a concert at Blossom, but jimmy skipped blossom this year....and for anyone who is a parrot head knows "a labor day weekend show' will always be a blast.

i remember being 15 and my mom telling me she was taking me to a concert with her friends. i remember thinking "oh great, an old people concert" (sorry, ma!) but remember it like it was yesterday and it's been 17 years. i remember being at peace, and in the moment. 

when jimmy took the stage last weekend, i cried. during the show , my hubs saw how happy and relaxed i was and told me it almost made him cry. literally. who cries at a BUFFETT concert?? there's something so peaceful and amazing about his presence. i suppose that's why his following is as large as it is. the camaraderie between parrot heads is just something you don't "get" until you experience it.

my resolution for my 36th year is to continue to be present in life. not worry about what my email box is telling me or the decisions i have to make at work. focus on the good stuff, the stuff that makes me smile in my soul. jimmy is better than yoga :)

yes, it's true. i went on a boot binge this weekend. dave is going to have to build me shoe storage in the pink room! here's a better pic of the comfy boot goodness that joined our family this weekend:

we are closing in on yet another 'busy season' in my world. for the past fourteen years, september 1-thanksgiving is a whirlwind of busy.busy.busy. who knew windows would be the reason my life would be so hectic!

dave got a promotion last month and i'm so proud of him it hurts.

i will continue to do the 'things i'm thankful for' posts, just starting a little late this month.

i am thankful for my family. yesterday was the 8th birthday of my nephew, sam.
sam is a brilliant sweet child. 8 years ago yesterday, i will never forget seeing him and holding him for the first time. he and his sisters are so special to me. they are just wonderful children and really, their parents deserve so much of that credit. they are excellent parents. beyond excellent, really. they allow their children to be who they are, nourish them, have fun with them, teach them, love them. it's been an amazing thing to watch and learn that my twin-cousin, jenn is one of the best mama's on the planet (just ask sam about planets!)
jenn is my other "i'm thankful for today" (and everyday). unconditional love, my first friend. just like the photo on my piano says "cousins from the start, friends from the heart". that's an understatement to the highest degree. we've grown, and somehow become 30- somethings, but somehow i'm still older than her! *growl*.
these above reasons are what i'm extra thankful for today.
